CURRENT OPENINGS:

  • Patient Access Clerk, Part Time (9am – 1pm every Monday, plus fill in as needed): Performs various administrative functions, such as reception and clerical work. Responsible for greeting incoming patients, completing necessary paperwork, and entering demographic and insurance information.  Must be able to work well in stressful situations, handle criticism and be able to multi-task, as well as follow instructions and take orders from multiple people. Good communication skills, ability to work professionally with colleagues and function independently. Must be able to use office equipment (copier, calculator, cash register, fax, scanner, etc).
    • Qualifications/Experience:
      • High school diploma or equivalent
      • Typing skills and computer experience
      • Previous experience in a hospital setting or emergency room clerical experience helpful.
    • Physical/Mental Requirements: Must be able to sit for long periods of time and walk for long periods of time.
  • Lab Secretary/Phlebotomist, Full Time (hours may vary according to the needs of the department): Under broad supervision of Laboratory Manager, is primarily responsible for phlebotomy procedures and for management of the blood drawing room. Keeps laboratory supplied with needed items from central supply and is responsible for keeping accurate records of all laboratory tests, performing other clerical tasks, and working closely with Patient Financial Services to assure accurate and complete laboratory charges. Computer and typing skills required.  Good verbal/written communication skills and good telephone skills.
    • Qualifications/Experience:
      • High school diploma or equivalent
      • CPR Certification
      • ASCP certification preferred
      • Knowledge of medical terminology helpful
      • Previous experience in phlebotomy helpful but will train the right candidate
    • Physical/Mental Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to tolerate long periods of standing or sitting.
  • Part Time Respiratory Therapist, Day Shift (24 hrs/wk): Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing cardiopulmonary care services in accordance with specific physician’s orders and department policies and procedures. Must be able to demonstrate competency in respiratory care and vent management and able to use informed judgment and individual competence.
    • Qualifications/Experience:
      • Graduate of an approved school of Respiratory Therapy
      • Current license in the State of Illinois
      • Certified or Registered in Respiratory Therapy
      • CPR certification
    • Physical/Mental Requirements:  May be exposed to prolonged standing, walking, or sitting.
  • Family Medicine Patient Care Tech/Receptionist (PRN – as needed): Under general supervision, assists physician and staff members in providing health care to patients. Stocks and maintains exam rooms and nurses stations and assists with clinical and clerical duties. Performs clerical and information technology functions for the physician/nurse practitioner in a clinic setting.  Manages patient flow by assessing needs of patients entering and exiting the clinic. Manages all incoming phone calls, maintaining patient information in computer system, and scheduling of patient appointments.
    • Qualifications/Experience:
      • High school graduate or equivalent
      • Medical Assistant Certification or completion of CNA training
      •  CPR Certification
    • Physical/Mental Requirements: Must be able to sit for long periods of time and walk for long periods of time.
  • Full Time Emergency Department RN (6:30pm – 7:00am): Provides direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department. Provides care that meets the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care; meets the communication needs of patient and family; provides care that reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations. Communicates with ED physicians about changes in patient’s status, symptomatology and results of diagnostic studies. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
    • Qualifications/Experience:
      • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
      • Current Registered Nurse license within the State of Illinois
      • One year Emergency/Critical Care experience or two years Medical/Surgical experience preferred
      • BLS Certification required. ECRN, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC or TNS within one year of hire
    • Physical/Mental Requirements: May be required to lift 50 lbs. or more and may be exposed to communicable diseases.
  • Full Time and PRN (as needed) Emergency Room Intake Technicians (schedule will include weekend and holiday rotation): Performs various administrative functions, such as reception and clerical work. Responsible for greeting incoming patients, completing full patient reception and registration functions which include entering demographic and insurance information. Assists ED RN in caring for patients who present to facility with life/limb threatening conditions. Must demonstrate an ability to be flexible with schedule and tasks and be able to function well in stressful situations.
    • Qualifications/Experience:
      • High school graduate or equivalent.
      • Licensed in the State of Illinois as EMT-B / P. NREMT or NREMT-P.
      • CPR certification required.
      • One-year pre-hospital EMS experience preferred.
    • Physical/Mental Requirements: May be required to lift 50 lbs. or more. Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time and may be exposed to communicable diseases.
  • PRN positions available for nursing departments (Family Medicine, Med/Surg, Emergency, Cardiac Rehab, Surgery Services)
